On June 30, 2026, the fourth cycle of the “Science Diaspora for Ukraine” Mentorship Program was completed, bringing together Ukrainian researchers working in Ukraine with mentors representing the Ukrainian scientific diaspora abroad.
Over the course of three months, the participants worked through individual mentoring, exchanged professional experience, developed research ideas, and identified further steps in their academic and professional development.
Unlike the previous cycle, which focused on economics, the fourth cycle was not limited to a specific academic field and brought together researchers from different disciplines. This format made it possible to support a broader community of Ukrainian researchers and foster interdisciplinary and international professional connections.
Within the program, mentoring pairs worked on research publications and grant applications, academic CV development, research projects, academic career planning, international opportunities, and the expansion of professional networks.
During the final meeting, the participants presented the outcomes of their cooperation, shared their mentorship experience, and discussed opportunities to continue working together after the official completion of the cycle.
The fourth cycle once again demonstrated that mentorship is more than a form of individual support. It can become the starting point for long-term professional partnerships, joint research, publications, grant initiatives, and the integration of Ukrainian researchers into the international academic community.
The “Science Diaspora for Ukraine” Mentorship Program supports researchers who, despite the war, continue working in Ukraine, developing research, and building new international connections.
The next cycle of the program is scheduled to begin in September 2026.
We invite Ukrainian researchers to join the next cycle of the Mentorship Program.
