One of the outcomes of the interaction within the “Science Diaspora for Ukraine” Mentorship Program cycle for economists, which concluded on May 29, 2026, is the joint expert talk “Accession as Transformation: EU Finance, Conditionality, and Local Governance Capacity in Ukraine”.
The lecture will take place on June 1, 2026, at 15:30–17:10 CET / 16:30–18:10 Kyiv time.
The speakers will be Inna Melnykovska, Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute, and Anna Kornyliuk, Associate Professor at the Ukrainian Catholic University, who participated in the “Science Diaspora for Ukraine” Mentorship Program. For us, this is an important example of how mentorship interaction can foster new professional contacts, academic cooperation, and expert discussions on Ukraine’s future.
The lecture will focus on international financial flows to Ukrainian municipalities, the balance between immediate stabilisation and long-term transformation, and how EU finance, conditionality, and local governance capacity shape the real pace of Ukraine’s EU integration.
The event is part of the ADVANCE-EUIUA Jean Monnet Module, supported by the CEU Democracy Institute and co-funded by the European Union.
