On 27 October 2023, the Ukrainian Science Diaspora digital platform was officially launched to bring together scientists and scholars who have not only moved abroad but also stayed in Ukraine. 163 participants attended the event.
The program of the digital platform's opening was rich and exciting. It included welcoming remarks by distinguished guests who emphasised the importance of this initiative for Ukrainian science and the community. Denis Kurbatov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, stressed that this initiative is significant for the development of Ukrainian science, and the platform is an important tool for cooperation between Ukrainian scientists, dissemination of their research and support of their professional activities.
Olesia Vashchuk, Head of the Scholar Support Office of the Young Scientists Council at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, shared motivating words about the unification of Ukrainian scientists, emphasising the importance of creating the Ukrainian Science Diaspora initiative. Olesia Vashchuk also noted that the Ukrainian Science Diaspora platform will become a powerful platform for the development of Ukrainian science.
Elizabeth Wood, Research Director of the MIT-Ukraine Programme, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, expressed support for the initiative to create the platform and stressed the importance of cooperation between Ukrainian and international scientists.
Yevheniia Polishchuk told the story of the creation of the platform and its main goals. She also gave a tour of the digital platform, showing its main functions and capabilities.
This opening of the digital platform is a step towards supporting and developing Ukrainian science, uniting scientists and scholars both in Ukraine and abroad. The Ukrainian Science Diaspora initiative is an important tool for cooperation and knowledge exchange among Ukrainian scientists and researchers.
