On 26–27 September 2024, the scientific conference "Ukrainian Days in Saarland" took place in Saarbrücken, Germany, organized by the Ukrainian-German Academic Society (DUAG) https://www.amegbio.com/ukrainian-days-in-saarland.At the invitation of the organizers, in particular Mr. Andrii Luzhetskyi, head of the local organizing committee, the Ukrainian Science Diaspora was represented by its French branch. The French Ukrainian scientific diaspora was presented by Olena Kovalchuk.In her report, the President of the Ukrainian Science Diaspora in France highlighted the achievements and initiatives undertaken by the French branch throughout its existence.
This two-day event was rich with project presentations delivered by Ukrainian PhD students and senior researchers in collaboration with German scholars. Young Ukrainian researchers also participated in the 8th annual competition for the best research papers among PhD students.In addition, there were panel discussions on “Innovative Economy” and “Startups: Opportunities between Germany and Ukraine.”A major highlight of the conference was the presentation by Gisella Zimmermann, representative of DAAD, who shared insights into funding opportunities for Ukrainian scientific projects.
Overall, the conference served as an excellent platform for dialogue, exchange of ideas, and development of German-Ukrainian cooperation in the fields of higher education, science, and research.
