On August 21–22, 2026, Linköping University will host the Third International Virtual Conference on Ukraine, an international online conference dedicated to Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction, socio-economic transformation, and long-term recovery.
The conference provides a global academic platform for researchers and practitioners working on issues related to Ukraine’s future development. It aims to bring together perspectives from economics, business administration, energy, health, finance, political science, sociology, and interdisciplinary fields to advance evidence-based insights on Ukraine’s reconstruction and transformation.
The conference focuses not only on rebuilding physical infrastructure, but also on restoring livelihoods, strengthening institutions, supporting human well-being, enabling sustainable development, and creating conditions for people to return and rebuild their lives.
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit original and unpublished contributions addressing Ukraine’s economy and society. The topics include accountable and efficient institutions, good governance, climate and environment, firm competitiveness and innovation, entrepreneurship, EU accession, financial development, healthcare and social services, international trade, migration, labor markets, human and social capital, reconstruction, rehabilitation, repatriation, poverty and inequality, and women in management and leadership.
The conference will be held online via Zoom, and participation is free of charge. Full papers or extended abstracts may be submitted. Upon request, a selection of high-quality papers presented at the conference may be considered for publication in special issues of peer-reviewed international journals.
Important dates:
- June 30, 2026 – deadline for submission of full papers or extended abstracts;
- July 20, 2026 – deadline for participation registration;
- July 31, 2026 – conference programme and Zoom links will be published;
- September 30, 2026 – deadline for submission of revised full papers for publication.
