On scientific diplomacy with the “Global South”: co-founders of the Ukrainian Science Diaspora initiative, Yevheniia Polishchuk and Ihor Lyman, served as experts in selecting participants for the 11th Scientific Diplomacy Courses, which began on June 18, 2024, in Trieste (Italy) under the auspices of UNESCO, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS).
Besides two representatives from Ukraine, the selection experts included researchers and policymakers from Lebanon, the United States, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Kenya, Argentina, Ghana, Mozambique, India, Tanzania, Moldova, Mauritius, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Colombia, Niger, Sudan, Cambodia, the Philippines, Nigeria, Indonesia, France, Serbia, Malaysia, Angola, Estonia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Thailand, Nepal, Costa Rica, and Malta.
Representatives from Argentina, Cameroon, Guatemala, India, Madagascar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sudan, Uganda, Kazakhstan, Germany, and France were selected to participate in the 11th Scientific Diplomacy Courses.
