Sumy National Agrarian University (SNAU) has officially presented its first scientific ambassador mandate to Olena Nifatova, Doctor of Economics and Professor at the University of Barcelona and SNAU.
The initiative follows the approval of the model regulation on scientific ambassadors for higher education institutions by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on April 4.
As a scientific ambassador, Olena Nifatova will represent SNAU in international institutions, support the university’s participation in international research consortia, and promote the integration of Ukrainian scholars into global research projects.
The five-year mandate focuses on representing the university in the Kingdom of Spain.
The document was presented in Spain during a meeting of the Erasmus consortium UniTwin Project in the presence of colleagues from Spain, Portugal, Sweden, and Ukraine.
According to SNAU representatives, this may become one of the first examples of implementing the scientific ambassador model in Ukraine. The university also emphasized the importance of scientific diplomacy and international partnerships for integrating Ukrainian research into the global academic community.
