On July 9, the team of the Palladin Institute of Biochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine congratulated Serhiy Komisarenko on his birthday – an outstanding Ukrainian scientist whose name is closely associated with the development of Ukrainian immunology and the history of the Institute.
For Ukrainian science, Serhiy Komisarenko is not only a researcher and science leader. He is also known as a diplomat, one of the key figures associated with the establishment of Ukraine’s presence in Antarctica, and a leader of the Special Olympics movement. For the team of the Institute of Biochemistry, he is first and foremost a director and mentor who has educated generations of researchers through his example, experience, patience, and wisdom.
Today, Serhiy Komisarenko serves as Adviser to the Director of the Palladin Institute of Biochemistry. His experience, scientific connections, and authority remain especially important during the war, when Ukrainian research institutions continue their work despite destruction, losses, and constant challenges.
Recently, the Institute of Biochemistry suffered damage as a result of an enemy attack: laboratories were destroyed and equipment was lost. Despite this, the Institute’s team remains resilient and continues working to restore its research infrastructure and preserve Ukrainian science.
The team of the Institute wished Serhiy Komisarenko good health, many fruitful years, new discoveries, and strength for his continued work.
Everyone who wishes to join the congratulations is invited to support the restoration of the Institute of Biochemistry. Such a contribution would be a meaningful gift for Serhiy Komisarenko – support for his home Institute and its continued scientific work.
