On 16 October 2026, the Information Day “Donation of Research Equipment for Ukraine” brought together representatives of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, members of the International Coalition for Science, Research, and Innovation in Ukraine, R.I. Logistica, SOLARIS (Jagiellonian University) and the Ukrainian Science Diaspora to discuss practical ways of transferring equipment to Ukrainian universities and research institutions.
The key message of the meeting: transferring functional, research-quality equipment to Ukraine is both feasible and achievable - provided the relevant institutional procedures and logistics are in place.
The initiative was endorsed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine: in a letter signed by Deputy Minister Denys Kurbatov, the Ministry underlined its importance for restoring and modernising Ukraine’s research infrastructure and encouraged universities and research institutions to take part. The initiative also aligns with the priorities of the Gdańsk Declaration on science, research and innovation in Ukraine.

Transferring equipment is far more than material support: it’s a chance to strengthen institutional ties, launch joint research and build sustainable international cooperation. The Ukrainian Science Diaspora is ready to facilitate these connections and mobilise the expertise and networks of Ukrainian researchers worldwide. 🇺🇦
