Uliana Zbezhkhovska, 01 June 2026

On September 18, 2026, Kozminski University in Warsaw will host the International Conference on Economic and Financial Modeling – ICEFMod 2026.

The conference is co-organised by KKozminski University, SGH Warsaw School of Economics, and Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics. The event will bring together academics, financial sector practitioners, analysts, regulatory experts, policymakers, and public-sector economists to exchange ideas on advanced quantitative methods and their applications in analysing financial markets, institutions, and complex economic systems.

ICEFMod 2026 will cover a broad range of topics in economic and financial modeling, including financial econometrics, credit risk modeling, portfolio management, corporate finance, banking sector stability, climate risk in banking, behavioral finance, macroeconomic and microeconomic modeling, economic forecasting, financial regulation, systemic risk, labor markets, income inequality, economic growth, and the interconnections between financial markets and the real economy.

A particularly important area of the conference will be the political economy of war and conflict. This year’s conference will feature a dedicated panel on the Ukrainian economy and the impact of Russia’s war against Ukraine on Ukraine and neighboring countries. The organizers welcome papers examining the economic consequences of the war, financial stability, trade disruptions, reconstruction challenges, and broader geopolitical implications.

The aim of the conference is to create an international forum for knowledge exchange between the academic community, financial sector practitioners, and public policymakers. The event will promote the presentation of the latest theoretical and empirical research, integrate diverse methodological approaches, and foster collaboration between science and economic practice.

The conference welcomes academic researchers in economics, finance, and econometrics, PhD students and early-career scholars, financial industry practitioners, analysts, risk managers, representatives of central banks and supervisory authorities, policymakers, public-sector economists, experts in financial regulation and economic forecasting, NGOs, and international institutions.
