On June 25, 2026, Uliana Zbezhkhovska, Head of the Ukrainian Science Diaspora Mentorship Program, took part in the 5th Summer School “Networking as a Principle and Tool for Building Academic Partnerships”, organised by the NGO “Innovative University” in partnership with Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.
In her presentation, “Ukrainian Science Diaspora: Networking and Engagement Experience”, Uliana Zbezhkhovska introduced the Ukrainian Science Diaspora initiative as a platform that connects Ukrainian researchers across different countries and supports the development of international academic cooperation.

Special attention was given to the “Science Diaspora for Ukraine” Mentorship Program, which creates opportunities for professional support, new academic connections, joint publications, grant applications, and international projects.
The participants also learned about academic networking practices, models of cooperation between Ukrainian and international researchers, digital tools for finding partners, and mechanisms for supporting professional communities.

The presentation provided an opportunity not only to share the experience of the Ukrainian Science Diaspora, but also to discuss how networking can strengthen university internationalisation, academic partnerships, and sustainable professional connections.
Participation in the Summer School reaffirmed that the Ukrainian scientific diaspora can serve as an important environment for knowledge exchange, joint initiatives, and the integration of Ukrainian science into the international academic community.
