Dr. Ielizaveta Gorodetska is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Biomarkers for Individualized Radiotherapy group led by Professor Anna Dubrovska at OncoRay – National Center for Radiation Research in Oncology, jointly affiliated with Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) and the Faculty of Medicine Carl Gustav Carus, Technische Universität Dresden. She earned her PhD (Dr. rer. medic.) from Technische Universität Dresden.
Her main research areas are translational radiooncology, cancer stem cell biology, tumour microenvironment interactions and biomarker discovery. She investigates the molecular drivers of radioresistance and metastasis in prostate cancer and melanoma, such as the ALDH and MMP11 pathways.
Alongside her research, she is an instructor for ESTRO-endorsed educational courses for Ukrainian oncology professionals, and she has previously mentored in the Ukrainian Scientific Diaspora programme.
Within the Mentorship for Research Hubs programme, she can support research teams in preparing high-impact scientific manuscripts, establishing international research collaborations, facilitating academic mobility, and developing their careers within the European radiation biology and oncology communities.
