Biobanking and Biopreservation

1.06 Biological sciences · cryopreservation, vitrification, hypothermia, MSCs, nanoparticles, exosomes

What this hub works on

Research focuses on cryopreservation of biological objects, including cryoconservation of plant samples at different levels of organization, as well as studying ways to prepare microalgae, meristems and buds for cryopreservation using vitrification. Another direction evaluates potential geroprotective/gerotherapeutic and neuroprotective effects of cryopreserved placental biological materials, including placental MSCs, extract, and placental cord blood serum in spinal cord injuries. In parallel, work addresses the biochemistry of cold adaptation and stress physiology, as well as grain quality evaluation and scientific mapping/bibliometrics.
