The Next Cycle of the Mentorship Program for Ukrainian Researchers Starts in September 2025

The Ukrainian Science Diaspora initiative is launching a new cycle of its mentorship program, set to begin in September 2025.

This program supports Ukrainian researchers who continue their academic work despite the challenges of full-scale war. It fosters professional development, strengthens international collaboration, and helps integrate Ukrainian scholars into the global academic community.

Results of the Pilot Cycle (February – May 2025)

During the first round of the program:

  • 11 mentor–mentee pairs were matched across 8 countries;
  • Over the course of 3 months, participants achieved:
    • 4 scientific publications,
    • 4 applications for academic exchange programs,
    • 4 CVs updated to EU standards,
    • 1 international cooperation agreement signed.

September 2025 Cycle: What to Expect

  • Program duration: 3 months (September – December 2025);
  • Format: virtual interaction via Zoom, Meet, email, or other platforms;
  • Matching process: based on scientific field, research topics, and individual needs;
  • Participation is free of charge and based on mutual respect and voluntary engagement
  • Opportunities for long-term collaboration may continue beyond the program.

Who can join?

  • Mentors: experienced researchers or abroad who are ready to share their knowledge and support Ukrainian colleagues;
  • Mentees: Ukrainian researchers working in Ukraine who seek guidance in academic development, international networking, publishing, or grant applications.
