The Ukrainian Science Diaspora initiative is announcing a new cycle of the “Science Diaspora for Ukraine” Mentorship Program, launching in early April 2026 and open to researchers across all disciplines who are working in Ukraine.
The program connects Ukrainian scholars with experienced members of the Ukrainian scientific diaspora based at universities and research institutions abroad. Its aim is to support the professional development of Ukrainian researchers and strengthen their integration into the global research community.
In 2025–2026, two program cycles were implemented, resulting in 15 mentorship teams, with 24 mentees and 15 mentors participating. Participants published scientific articles, including in Scopus-indexed journals, secured international grants and fellowships (including Fulbright, FEBS, and GMAF), and initiated partnerships between Ukrainian higher education institutions and universities in the EU and the United States.
In their feedback, participants highlight the practical value of mentorship, support in preparing publications and grant applications, and a sense of belonging to the international research community even under wartime conditions. Learn more and read participant feedback here:
