Andrii Chumak is a professor at the Faculty of Physics at the University of Vienna, head of the Nanomagnetism and Magnonics research group, and co-founder of the Ukrainian Science Diaspora in Austria.
Dr. Chumak was born in Uman. In 1999-2005 he studied physics at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Since 2007 he has worked in Germany. In 2009 he defended his PhD thesis at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. After that, he worked at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern (Germany). In 2016, he became a doctor habilitated at the same university and received an ERC Starting Grant. Since 2019, he has been a professor at the University of Vienna. Since 2023, he has been a co-founder of the Ukrainian Science Diaspora in Austria.
