On March 31, 2025, the Ukrainian Science Diaspora initiative held an online meeting with Mr. Vitaly Chernetsky, President of the Shevchenko Scientific Society in the United States.
The event was dedicated to the topic:"The Shevchenko Scientific Society in the U.S.: Experience Relevant to the Ukrainian Diaspora"
Пан Віталій Чернецький, літературознавець, професор Канзаського університету та активний діяч української академічної спільноти за кордоном, розповів про історію та сучасну діяльність Товариства, заснованого в 1948 році в Нью-Йорку. Обговорення охопило такі ключові питання:
- How the Society helps preserve Ukrainian academic traditions in the diaspora
- Opportunities for cooperation between scholars in Ukraine and abroad
- Support for Ukrainian researchers during the war
- How the Society’s institutional experience can support the creation and development of similar initiatives in other countries
