Ukraine has officially launched the Institute of International Scientific Ambassadors – a tool intended to strengthen international research cooperation and advance science diplomacy. According to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, an international scientific ambassador is a researcher who has ties to Ukrainian universities or research institutions, works abroad, and represents Ukrainian science internationally. Their role includes building international contacts, finding partners, and supporting the participation of Ukrainian researchers in international programmes and projects.
This instrument is expected to increase the global visibility of Ukrainian higher education and research institutions, support Ukraine’s engagement in global research initiatives, and contribute to countering manipulative narratives by promoting an objective international understanding of Ukrainian science.
