The University of Tartu has opened registration for the final 2025 edition of the free online course “Ukraine: The European Frontier”.
The course explores key aspects of Ukraine’s history, identity, culture, society, politics, resistance during the war, European integration, digital transformation, and prospects for the future. It is designed for a wide audience – students, lecturers, researchers, civic activists, government officials, and anyone seeking to gain a deeper understanding of contemporary Ukraine.
Each lecture is delivered by leading experts in their respective fields, including scholars and practitioners from Ukraine, Estonia, Australia, Canada, and the United States.
The course is conducted in English and offered free of charge on the University of Tartu’s educational platform. Participants who successfully complete all requirements will receive a digital certificate.
Registration is available on the University of Tartu course platform. After registration, administrators will grant access to the Moodle learning environment. The course duration is six weeks and can be completed at the participant’s own pace.
The course was developed by the University of Tartu Ukraine Centre (UTUC) at the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies with support from the University of Tartu Development Fund. Topics 4.1, 4.2, 6.1, and 6.2 were supported by the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence project “Rejuvenating Democracy in the EU” (REPAIR).
