On 23–24 March 2026, Liverpool hosted the UK-Ukraine Research Twinning Showcase and Networking, bringing together researchers, partners, and friends of Ukraine, primarily from the United Kingdom. During the event, Prof. Yevheniia Polishchuk presented the latest updates and 2026 development plans of the Ukrainian Science Diaspora initiative.

The initiative’s mission is to unite Ukrainian scholars worldwide so that their knowledge, experience, and expertise contribute to Ukraine’s recovery and development.

Today, Ukrainian Science Diaspora is:
- a global network of Ukrainian researchers and diaspora scientific communities;
- a digital map of Ukrainian scholars worldwide;
- a platform for international cooperation and the internationalisation of education;
- an expert pool supporting Ukraine’s recovery;
- a hub for career development and science diplomacy.

In 2026, the initiative plans to launch new digital tools, including:
- an AI-based job search platform;
- a partnership and consortium-building system;
- digital science diplomacy tools;
- a module to assess diaspora impact on Ukraine’s recovery.

Prof. Yevheniia Polishchuk also shared reflections on her participation in the UK–Ukraine Academic Mentoring Scheme, highlighting how international academic solidarity can reshape career trajectories and open new opportunities for Ukrainian researchers.
We thank all partners, mentors, and colleagues for supporting Ukraine and Ukrainian science. Together, we are turning the global Ukrainian scientific community into a powerful force for change.
