On May 12, the "Ukrainian Science Diaspora" initiative was presented at the U.S.-Ukrainian discussion panel on developing public humanities programs in Ukrainian universities, organized by Mariupol State University. The panel was moderated by Ihor Lyman, co-founder of the initiative. Among the speakers were Timothy Standard, Deputy Cultural Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine; Elizabeth Wood, Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Director of the MIT-Ukraine Program; William Dutton, Director of the Portulans Institute (Washington, D.C.), Founding Director of the Oxford Internet Institute, and Honorary Professor at the University of Southern California; American higher education expert Mick Mulley; Yevheniia Polishchuk, co-founder of the "Ukrainian Science Diaspora" initiative; and several other representatives of the Ukrainian scientific diaspora.
Professor Dutton, whom knowledgeable colleagues refer to as a maestro and a "living classic" in the field of public communications, wrote a blog post about the event immediately after the discussion panel titled “Networks of Resilience in and beyond Ukraine”.
