Participation of Yevheniia Polishchuk in the Institute of International Education – Scholar Rescue Fund Forum

On October 11–12, 2024, Yevheniia Polishchuk represented the Ukrainian Science Diaspora community at the Institute of International Education – Scholar Rescue Fund Forum.The Forum brought together over 100 participants from various countries affected by war or persecution by authoritarian regimes.

Yevheniia was invited to take part in a panel discussion focused on non-research activities of scholars who were forced to leave their home countries due to war. She spoke about the work of the diaspora community and its future plans, particularly in regard to mentorship programs and science diplomacy.

Other panelists shared how they support their fellow citizens in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Yemen.

Like Ukrainian scholars, they all emphasized the importance of supporting their countries and people during difficult times.

The Forum concluded with a presentation of the new Global Women Leadership Program, which took place at the residence of the Permanent Representative of the United States to the European Union.This program is also open to Ukrainian women researchers.
