On October 1–2, 2025, the Days of Ukraine in Bavaria took place at the University of Bayreuth (Bavaria, Germany), organized by the German-Ukrainian Academic Society (DUAG).
This year’s theme was “Bridging Ideas, Building Knowledge – Shaping Excellence and Partnership.”

More than one hundred participants from Ukraine, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Austria, the Czech Republic, Canada, and Turkey took part in the event, discussing ways to enhance bilateral academic cooperation and partnership.

Welcome speeches were delivered by Vice President for Internationalization of the University of Bayreuth Dr. Nina Nestler, Mayor of Bayreuth Thomas Ebersberger, Consul General of Ukraine in Munich Yurii Nykytiuk, as well as representatives of DUAG and the Chair of Metals and Alloys of the University of Bayreuth.

The thematic sessions were devoted to academic cooperation in education and research, history, linguistics, migration studies, and funding opportunities for joint projects.

In the final of the UKRAINET PhD Thesis Presentation Contest, Sofia Kovalchuk won first place for her research “Targeted inhibition of activated neutrophil transmigration ameliorates the myeloproliferative neoplasm phenotype in mice.”

After the official part, participants visited the Chair of Metals and Alloys laboratory, where they learned about scientific instruments and potential directions for future cooperation.

The next Days of Ukraine are planned to take place in 2026 at TH Wildau.
