Marta Barandiy is an international lawyer, founder of the NGO “Promote Ukraine”, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Brussels Ukraїna Review” (Belgium), lecturer at the Ukrainian Free University (Munich).
Dr. Barandiy was born in Lviv. In 2005, she completed a master's degree in international law and international relations at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, in 2008 - a master's degree in European law at the University of Saarland, and in 2012 she received a PhD in international law at the same university in Germany.
In May 2014, she founded NGO “Promote Ukraine” in Brussels. Subsequently, she was the Representative of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Belgium and for communications with EU bodies. Member of the Association of International Law. Winner of the European Citizen’s Award of the European Parliament, 2022.
Dr. Barandiy ran for the European Parliament in 2024. She speaks seven languages.
