Presentation of the Initiative at the International Workshop "Informing about the European Union in Ukraine in the Context of Russian Aggression"

Igor Lyman, 03 July 2023

The Ukrainian Science Diaspora Initiative was presented at the International Workshop held on July 6-8 as part of the Jean Monnet Program project "Rebuilding the Capacity of European Studies in the Ukrainian Conflict-Affected Areas: Reflecting on Challenges and Generating Solutions".

The project is being implemented by the Ukrainian Association of Teachers and Researchers of European Integration, whose activities are aimed at creating a modern, inclusive and dynamic professional environment for Ukrainian educators and researchers specializing in the study of European integration processes. The key goal of this initiative is to strengthen European studies in displaced higher education institutions from the occupied territories, as well as in higher education institutions in the territories located near the front line. The event became a platform for sharing experiences and ideas aimed at supporting and developing relations between Ukraine and the European Union. Participants shared their views on ways to overcome the challenges posed by Russian aggression and create constructive solutions to strengthen cooperation.

Given the history of displacement of the universities represented at the workshop, the Ukrainian Science Diaspora initiative makes special sense in maintaining contacts with their scholars who have found themselves abroad.
