The main goal of Europeana.eu is to facilitate access to cultural heritage and promote its use in various spheres of life. Access to cultural heritage leads to positive social and economic change, and digital technologies can support and accelerate this change.

Accessibility: Europeana.eu provides the impetus, expertise and tools to support cultural heritage institutions in using digital technologies to open up their collections to make them accessible for use.

Europeana.eu enables cultural heritage institutions to communicate with existing and new audiences online. It supports all cultural heritage institutions in creating quality digital assets in standardised formats, enabling them to share, research and use their collections.

The event also featured a demonstration of practical examples of the use of digital tools for accessing digital cultural heritage. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the various collections, archives and libraries that have been made accessible through digital technologies.

The event also offered opportunities for discussions and exchange of views on the further development of digital cultural heritage in the context of education and science. Participants actively discussed issues related to the preservation, presentation and access to cultural property, as well as cooperation between institutions and countries.
