Invitation to Presentation: How Diaspora and NGOs Are Shaping New Models of Cooperation

On July 3, 2025 at 16:00 Kyiv time, the charitable organization Philanthropy will host an online presentation of the study “Partnership Across Borders: How the Diaspora and NGOs Are Shaping New Models of Cooperation.”

This research explores the dynamics of collaboration between the Ukrainian diaspora and the civil society sector in the context of the ongoing war, while also drawing on international experience from countries such as Israel, Mexico, India, and others with long-standing diaspora mobilization practices.

The event will include a presentation of the research findings followed by a panel discussion with representatives of the diaspora and civil society organizations.

The study addresses key questions such as:

• • How the Ukrainian diaspora supported Ukraine before and after 2022
• • What motivates or hinders diaspora engagement in philanthropic, volunteer, and advocacy initiatives
• • Which international cooperation models can be adapted to the Ukrainian context
• • How to engage different waves of the diaspora effectively
• • What the state, civil society, and diaspora can do to build sustainable mechanisms of trust and cooperation
