Participation of Representatives of the Ukrainian Science Diaspora in the UN Science Summit within the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly

What?

We invite you to take part in a panel discussion on the development of Ukraine’s scientific environment and sustainable development, which will be held on September 24, 2024, from 18:00 to 20:00 Kyiv time.The event is part of the UN Science Summit within the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly.

The working language of the event is English.

Moderator: Olena Masliukivska, Department of Ecology, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, and Visiting Researcher at the University of Vaasa, Finland.

Among the speakers:Yevheniia Polishchuk, Co-founder of the Ukrainian Science Diaspora, Professor at Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University.

The goal of the meeting is to define ways to develop the scientific environment and ensure sustainable development in Ukraine. Together with the participants, we will address the following questions:

  • Can cross-sectoral partnerships between Ukraine’s academia and businesses, non-profits, and public institutions strengthen it and contribute to sustainable development?
  • What are examples of successful partnerships, especially over the past three years? What makes them work?
  • Where are such partnerships most needed?
  • What needs to be done to stimulate such partnerships?
  • How can the international community help?
