Dear colleagues,
The Scholar Support Office of the Young Scientists Council at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is pleased to inform you about the public opening of the digital platform "Ukrainian Science diaspora", which will take place on 27 October at 15:00 (Kyiv time). The platform aims to unite the efforts of Ukrainian scientists of different waves of migration for the reconstruction and development of Ukraine, as well as more effective integration of Ukrainian scientists into the global scientific community.
We are pleased to introduce you to two prominent speakers, representatives of the Ukrainian Science diaspora, who will deliver a workshop on "Scientific Networking is Important" at our event:
Volodymyr Tarabara, Professor of Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan. Volodymyr was born and raised in Dnipro and received his PhD from Rice University in Houston. His research focuses on separation processes for water treatment, industrial pollution control and biosafety monitoring. He has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters, and has edited publications in the field of membrane science and technology. He is currently the Director of the Centre for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at the University of Michigan.
Svitlana Krasinska is a well-known scholar and activist born in Ukraine and living in the United States. She is actively engaged with the Ukrainian diaspora and conducts research on civil society, informal organisations, gender equality and online mobilisation in the diaspora. Svitlana is an Associate Fellow at the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute and the author of numerous academic papers.
At the workshop "Scientific Networking is Important", both speakers will share their experience and approaches to scientific networking, as well as discuss important issues for Ukrainian scientists and researchers.
